Weatherquest Privacy Policy
Weatherquest Limited (“we”/“us”/“our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you a safe online experience. This Privacy Policy applies to the Weatherquest website (www.weatherquest.co.uk) (the “Site“) and our Software and Services including our WQ Radar services and the Weatherquest Forecast Services (the “Services“).
Together with our terms of use this policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read this policy carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
For the purpose of the applicable data protection legislation, the data controller is Weatherquest Limited of Enterprise Centre University of East Anglia, Earlham Road, Norwich, Norfolk, England, NR4 7TJ.
Collection of your Personal Data
Through your interactions with us and the Site and our Services, we will collect and process personal data about you (“Personal Data“). This will include information that you give us by filling in forms on the Site or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. The information you give us upon registration which may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number, username, password and other registration information, including financial and credit card information. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract when you sign up to use our Site and Services or our legitimate interests, namely the proper administration of our Software and Services.
(b) Information we get from your use of our Services (“usage data“). We collect information about the Services that you use and how you use them. When you use the Services and the Site we automatically collect and store information. This information may include your browser type and version, length of visit, page views and navigation paths, as well as information about the timing, frequency and pattern of your use of the Services. When you use the Services, we may collect and process information about your actual location. We use various technologies to determine location, including your IP address, GPS and other sensors that may, for example, provide us with information on nearby devices, Wi-Fi access points and mobile towers. The usage data we process may include device-specific information, including the type of mobile device you use, a unique device identifier (for example, your device’s IMEI number, the MAC address of the device’s wireless network interface), mobile network information or your mobile operating system. This usage data may be processed for the purposes of analysing the use of the Site and our Services. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interests, namely the proper administration of our Site and Services.
(c) We may process information contained in or relating to any communication that you send to us (“correspondence data“). The correspondence data may include the communication content and metadata associated with the communication. The correspondence data may be processed for the purposes of communicating with you and record-keeping. The legal basis for this processing is consent.
Use of your Personal Data
We collect and use the Personal Data you have provided to us to operate the Site and to deliver the services you have requested. We may also use your Personal Data to inform you of other products or services available from us.

We use a cloud service provider for the purposes of storing data and providing our Services. The data centre at which our cloud service provider’s servers are based is within the UK.
In addition to the specific disclosures of Personal Data set out above, we may also disclose your Personal Data where such disclosure is necessary for compliance with other legal obligations to which we are subject, or in order to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of another natural person.
Retaining and deleting Personal Data
This section sets out our data retention policies and procedure, which are designed to help ensure that we comply with our legal obligations in relation to the retention and deletion of Personal Data. We shall not keep personal information for longer than is necessary in order to deliver our Services and for to comply with our legal obligations.
We will retain and store the Personal Data of our customers for as long as they are using our Services for the purposes of administering our Services. When a customer informs us that they no longer wish to receive our Services we will mark them on our internal database as inactive. For administration purposes we will retain this information for a period of one year once a customer has been marked as inactive after which time we will permanently delete their Personal Data.
Notwithstanding the other provisions of this Section 5, we may retain your Personal Data where such retention is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject, or in order to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of another natural person.
Use of Cookies
